Home > News > MA Accreditation Scheme Year 2021

Dear Council

From 2021, Managing Agents (MAs) who have undergone structured training by the Building and Construction Authority Academy (BCAA) and either the Association of Property and Facility Managers (APFM) or the Association of Strata Managers (ASM), can apply for accreditation under the scheme administered by either the APFM or ASM. Both accreditation schemes will be recognised by the BCA to support industry efforts to raise MA standards.

The accreditation schemes aim to raise the professionalism and improve the competencies of MA firms and individual MAs, with a focus on those providing services to management corporations (MCSTs).

For MA firms to receive accreditation, a minimum of 30% of its individual MAs must be accredited from February 2021. This minimum percentage will be increased to 50% from February 2022 and 70% from February 2023. MA firms can be accredited if they have sufficient staff accredited at the individual level and fulfil other accreditation criteria.

For 2021, we are pleased to announce that Newman & Goh Property Consultants has successfully attained the Accredited Managing Agent (AMA - Registered) status with APFM.

Newman & Goh’s corporate vision has been to be the leading home-grown real-estate professional consultancy firm. Our attainment of the accreditation for 2021, brings us one step closer to achieving that vision.
