Entrant must be a legal resident of any of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, each entrant must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sign up for The Cardinal Newman Society\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cardinalnewmansociety.org\/the-newman-guide\/recruit-me\/\">Recruit Me program <\/a>and be enrolled in Recruit Me when the Contest winner is chosen.<\/li>\n<li>Watch this <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/935460362?share=copy\">7-minute video<\/a> on the advantages of a Newman Guide Recommended college.<\/li>\n<li>Review information about Newman Guide Recommended colleges through the <a href=\"https:\/\/cardinalnewmansociety.org\/college\/\">online Newman Guide<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/cardinalnewmansociety.org\/guide\/\">free E-Book<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/cardinalnewmansociety.org\/guide\/\">printed book format<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><span data-teams=\"true\">Submit a short statement explaining his or her interest in a faithful Catholic education and formation at a <a id=\"menur6b0\" class=\"fui-Link ___1q1shib f2hkw1w f3rmtva f1ewtqcl fyind8e f1k6fduh f1w7gpdv fk6fouc fjoy568 figsok6 f1s184ao f1mk8lai fnbmjn9 f1o700av f13mvf36 f1cmlufx f9n3di6 f1ids18y f1tx3yz7 f1deo86v f1eh06m1 f1iescvh fhgqx19 f1olyrje f1p93eir f1nev41a f1h8hb77 f1lqvz6u f10aw75t fsle3fq f17ae5zn\" title=\"https:\/\/cardinalnewmansociety.org\/college\/\" href=\"https:\/\/cardinalnewmansociety.org\/college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Link Newman Guide Recommended college\">Newman Guide Recommended college<\/a>. Without a clear affirmation of Catholic education and formation in fidelity to Catholic teaching without compromise, a student&#8217;s application will be invalid and ineligible for the scholarship.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Submit application by 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.<\/li>\n<li>Agree that, upon selection as the Contest winner, the entrant will participate in a recorded interview for a short video to be owned and promoted publicly by The Cardinal Newman Society.<\/li>\n<li>Agree that, upon selection as the Contest winner and before the scholarship is awarded, the entrant will provide a Letter of Good Standing signed by the entrant\u2019s Catholic parish priest, indicating that the entrant is a practicing Catholic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Should the winner of the Contest decide not to attend a college recommended in The Newman Guide, or if the winner does not meet all eligibility and application requirements, a new winner may be selected.<\/p>\n<p>The Contest is not open to immediate family members of the employees or volunteers of The Cardinal Newman Society.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Additional Rules:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Upon entry, each entrant agrees to be bound by the Contest Rules, which shall be final and binding in all respects. A random number generator will be used to randomly select the winner.<\/p>\n<p>By entering the contest, the entrant represents that the entrant is the original author of the statement expressing interest in attending a Newman Guide Recommended college, and that the statement does not plagiarize or otherwise infringe the proprietary right of any third party.<\/p>\n<p>Upon submission, all statements become the exclusive property of The Cardinal Newman Society, and The Cardinal Newman Society shall have the right to reproduce the entrant\u2019s statement and use it and the entrant\u2019s name for promotional and educational purposes without compensation or further permission.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinal Newman Society will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected, or illegible applications. The Cardinal Newman Society reserves the right to disqualify any entry by a person determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Contest.<\/p>\n<p>The winner will be notified by telephone, email, and\/or U.S. Mail. Return of a prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected. The winner may waive the right to receive a prize. Prizes are nonassignable and nontransferable. The winner is solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes.<\/p>\n<p>The winner may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law) which must be returned within ten (10) days of date of postmark. Failure to sign and return the affidavit or release within ten (10) days, or to comply with any of the Contest Rules, may result in a winner\u2019s disqualification, the forfeiture of his\/her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to an alternate winner.<\/p>\n<p>Each prize will be paid directly to an institution of higher education that is recommended in The Newman Guide, only after the winner provides verification from the institution that he\/she has formally enrolled in the institution for full-time study in the Fall of 2026 or Fall of 2027. The winner must provide any IRS-required information prior to payment. The prize may be applied by the higher education institution to complete payment of the winner\u2019s tuition, fees, books, supplies, housing, and related educational expenses. No prize will be paid directly to the winner. Failure to verify enrollment in an institution that is recommended in the The Newman Guide may result in a winner\u2019s disqualification, the forfeiture of his\/her interest in the prize, and the award of the prize to an alternate winner. The Cardinal Newman Society reserves the right to request from the winner additional documentation it reasonably believes is necessary to confirm enrollment in an institution of higher education that is recommended in The Newman Guide.<\/p>\n<p>Upon entry, each entrant and his\/her parents or guardians (if the entrant is under age 18) release The Cardinal Newman Society from all liability arising from his\/her entry in the Contest and use of the prizes and agree to sign any additional documentation which The Cardinal Newman Society may reasonably request addressing this or any other Contest rules.
